OTL: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Open Transaction Layer (OTL)?

The purpose of OTL is to provide a standardized coordination layer for on-chain finance, allowing different institutions and wallets to exchange identity and compliance data seamlessly, thereby reducing the costs and complexity of digital asset transactions.

Q: How Can I Participate in Open Transaction Layer (OTL)'s Ecosystem?

Developers can participate by contributing to the open-source codebase on GitHub or implementing the OTL standards in their dApps or financial platforms. Institutions can join the consortium to help shape future specifications of the protocol.

Q: What Sets Open Transaction Layer (OTL) Apart from Competitors?

Unlike proprietary solutions or specific blockchain bridges, OTL is a vendor-neutral, multi-chain standard supported by the world's largest crypto and fintech companies, ensuring broad interoperability across both custodial and non-custodial environments.

Q: Is Open Transaction Layer (OTL) Secure?

OTL is designed with security as a core principle, leveraging encrypted execution environments and standardized, auditable protocols. As an open-source project, its specifications are subject to public scrutiny and industry-wide security audits.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Open Transaction Layer (OTL)?

The primary risk is the challenge of industry-wide adoption; the standard's value depends on a critical mass of institutions using it. There are also typical risks associated with early-stage infrastructure, such as potential bugs in reference implementations as they are rolled out.

OTL

Infra Compliance Solutions

OTL is an open protocol stack used for secure and compliant on-chain transaction coordination between institutions. It achieves decentralized interoperability through modular layers (identity, message, transmission, session, application), supports unified standards for participants such as financial institutions, wallets, and agents, and avoids duplication of building coordination layers.

What is Open Transaction Layer (OTL)?

The Open Transaction Layer (OTL) is an industry-wide initiative and open protocol stack launched in May 2026. Its mission is to create a unified, shared standard for on-chain financial coordination, effectively solving the 'silo' problem where financial institutions operate in isolation. It aims to streamline secure and compliant transactions between regulated entities, unhosted wallets, and AI-driven agents globally.

How Does Open Transaction Layer (OTL) Work?

OTL functions as a coordination layer that sits between the application and settlement layers of a blockchain. It utilizes a modular framework based on established global standards like W3C DIDs for identity, ISO 20022 for messaging, and IVMS101 for compliance. The protocol facilitates the exchange of critical metadata—such as identity verification and regulatory checks—before the actual value transfer occurs on existing networks like Solana, Ethereum, or Polygon.

What Makes Open Transaction Layer (OTL) Unique?

OTL is unique because it is a collaborative, non-commercial infrastructure project that intentionally lacks a native token. It serves as a 'common language' for the entire crypto industry, supported by a massive consortium of founding partners including Fireblocks, Robinhood, and MetaMask. Unlike bridges or L2s, OTL focuses purely on the coordination and compliance workflow, allowing institutions to interact without building costly bespoke bilateral integrations.

Who Are the Founders of Open Transaction Layer (OTL)?

The project was convened by Fireblocks and launched by a consortium of over 30 founding members. Key figures include Idan Ofrat, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Fireblocks. The founding group spans major fintech and crypto leaders such as MetaMask (ConsenSys), Robinhood, eToro, Checkout.com, and various blockchain foundations like the Solana Foundation and Stellar Development Foundation.
